My experience With Southwest Airlines Ticket Cancellation

The kind of lifestyle an average American is living today is quite hectic. This often results in sudden changes in plans due to shifts in priorities. You might have planned a nice and relaxing vacation to some of the best travel destinations around the country and then either your work life or family obligations can come in the way. I found myself in a similar situation a couple of months back when I had booked a flight to New Orleans but a cousin’s wedding coincided with all my plans. 

The flight I had booked was with Southwest Airlines, one of the major airlines of the United States. I have travelled with them multiple times previously and the experience has always been more than satisfactory but this was the first time I had to cancel a flight with them. The cancellation process can often be a nightmare and it can be long and slightly bothersome. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case with Southwest Airlines as their cancellation process is easy to go through. 


The process can be completed either through the official website of Southwest or through their contact number. On their website, all the user has to do is to click on the icon named Change/Cancel which can be found on the homepage itself. Log in to your Rapid Rewards Account. Next, you have to enter your confirmation number and passenger’s name and click cancel.

Southwest’s refund policy is one of the best out there. If you go through the cancellation process within 24 hours, you are entitled to get a refund of any fare, Business Select, Wanna Get Away, and Anytime. During this whole experience of trying to figure out how to cancel my flight and get a refund, I looked up many articles and blog posts on the internet which proved to be helpful.
