Refund Policy Of Air Canada Airline

Air Canada is among the airlines which have maintained the quality of their services over the years. It regularly gets voted as the best North American airline. It has been recognized for its great business class and fantastic staff. If you are looking to cancel a flight and wish to get a refund, you would be pleased to know that Air Canada’s policies are customer-friendly.

So, here’s what you need to know about Air Canada’s refund policy. Like many other Airlines, Air Canada offers its customers two fare types. Your fare type can either be refundable or non-refundable. According to the airline’s 24-hour policy, the customer will not have to pay any ticket cancellation charges if they cancel their ticket within 24 hours from the time the booking is made.

If you happen to make the cancellation within this 24-hour limit, you will be entitled to a receiving a full refund. The refund will be made to you in the form of the payment method you chose during the booking process.

The passenger is eligible to make a cancellation of the ticket after the 24-hour period as well, but additional charges will be applicable. If you have purchased a Basic Economy Fare and canceled your ticket after the 24-hour time limit, you will not be eligible for any refund upon cancellation.

If the passenger has purchased the Economy Flex fare, they will receive a partial refund and the cancellation fee would be around $200. First Class and Business Class passengers are also only entitled to a partial refund according to Air Canada Refund Policy.

If the ticket purchased by the passenger is a non-refundable ticket, they are also eligible to make the cancellation after the 24-hour period but they will not receive a refund and instead, the airline will provide them with the Travel Credit Voucher which can be applied to make any future bookings with Air Canada.

If instead of the passenger, the airline itself cancels your flight due to any issues or the weather conditions not being ideal, the airline will be providing you with a full refund. You will be entitled to a full refund even if the flight is delayed for more than three hours. The airline will also arrange another flight for you.
