Delta allows your pet to be transported either as carry-on or through shipping. Talking about the carry-on pet requirements, only small dogs, household birds, and small cats are allowed to travel inside the cabin. The pet travel fee is to be collected during check-in. The pet will be traveling inside a carrier which must fit under the seat in front of the passenger.

There is a minimum age requirement for pet travel as well. Your pet must be at least 10 weeks old in age to be eligible for pet travel with Delta. It is essential that the carrier is well ventilated and the pet should be comfortable inside it.

The carrier must also have a ventilation opening on three sides. For international pet travel, the ventilation opening should be on four sides. Delta recommends the maximum dimensions for the pet carrier should be 18” x 11” x 11”. A pet carrier within this dimension limit would fit in most of the aircraft types. The pet must remain inside this carrier at all times.
