Unaccompanied Minor Policy of JetBlue Airways

Similar to any other airline, JetBlue Airways has its own unaccompanied minor service (UNMR). JetBlue provides this service to any minor between the ages of 5–14 who will be traveling without the company of a parent or any adult guardian. The service is provided for both domestic and international flights.

Under no condition does JetBlue allow the travel of a minor under the age of 5 alone. A minor under the age of 5 must be accompanied by a passenger who is at least 14 years old.

JetBlue’s unaccompanied minor service is made available at departure and destination airports, onboard, and during connections. It is also available at JetBlue’s partner and codeshare airlines.

Check-In at the counter at the airport is necessary for any unaccompanied minor.

JetBlue does not ask for a photo ID of the unaccompanied minor. Although, the parent or adult guardian who will be escorting and receiving the minor at the departure and destination airports much carry a photo ID and their name must be on the reservation.

The unaccompanied minor’s ticket can be booked either online or via a phone call. A $150 service fee will be charged in addition to the ticket’s price. You will have to fill the Unaccompanied minor form which can be downloaded online. You can also fill the form at the airport counter itself.

The child will be escorted to his/her seat during onboarding by one of the staff members of JetBlue Airways.
